Resume and Cover Letter Examples
Before you browse the examples, I'd like to share a few thoughts my experience convinces me are worth your consideration....
To reiterate what I said in my "Services" section,
"It's all about CONTENT!"
I agree the flashy, less "conventional", formats can be quite eye catching and appealing! However, content is what gets you the phone call for the interview, and isn't that our objective?
You may ask, "Why can't I have both flash AND content?" Absolutely, you can! I am not opposed to uniquely formatted resumes, they are FUN! However, here are two points to consider:

Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) can mangle your resume to the point it is indecipherable! Increasingly, resumes are required to be submitted through Applicant Tracking Systems, which you are probably already well aware. If you didn't already know, these systems are VERY persnickety! They use software to parse the words so a company's computer can search for keywords, etc.

Most ATS cannot interpret multiple columns, bullets, tables, lines, etc., all of which are needed to create the "flashy" type resumes.

Applicant Tracking Systems require resumes to be in "plain text" or similar format. Flashy resumes do not convert well to "plain text" without significant editing! This means more time required to convert your resume, which means more money out of your pocket for a "plain text" version to submit to an ATS.

The below examples show it is possible to have a very "eye appealing", professional resume to attach to your emails, take with you to interviews, AND which, will more easily convert to "plain text" with minimal clean-up time = less cost to you.
2. Flashy formats can be irritating to hiring managers and recruiters! Conventional layouts
make it easy to review your resume. Hiring managers and recruiters review hundreds of resumes! If you provide them with a familiar conventional format, their eyes can instantly land on what they want to know!
I recommend traditional resume formats - using features that enhance eye appeal and presentation - which easily convert to "plain text", with minimal editing.

Career Change / One Page Marketing Resume
- Designed as a marketing resume.
- Demonstrates emphasizing skills and experience transferable for career change!
Managerial / One Page Marketing Resume
- Emphasizes most impressive recent
experience, only mentions earlier experience.
- Showcases "above & beyond"
accomplishments
Young Professional working for Promotion & Upward Movement
Resume - Strong highlights of the most recent professional accomplishments. Minimal mention of prior position.
Cover Letter - Extensively calls out outstanding achievements / expresses enthusiam and great interest in the desired position.
Mature Professional with Extensive Experience
Resume - Long career - note there are not numerous bullets - only the most important accomplishments. (Another example of a marketing resume.)
Cover Letter - Note how there is a connection made to a person currently with the company. Expresses significant research into the company and the position for which she is applying! Points out "why" she is a great fit and what she has to offer to the company!
Marketing Industry
Resume - Another one-page marketing tool resume for... a marketing person! Note the text box - these are fantastic if you have a quote from a past review where a manager has said something great about you!
Cover Letter - Notice again, they mention in the first paragraph that they were referred by someone associated with the company. Note the expression of unmistakable interest!
